The History of Bill Duckworth Tire

Founded in 1965, Bill Duckworth Tire has spent the last years delivering extensive auto repairs to satisfied customers throughout Brunswick, GA, Hinesville, GA, St. Mary’s, GA, Woodbine, GA, Glenville, GA, and surrounding areas, including the King’s Bay Military Base. We focus on building strong customer relationships and providing the highest quality of workmanship on each and every automotive repair.

Important Dates & Milestones

• 1965: Bill Duckworth Sr. moves to Brunswick, Georgia in November and purchases a small retread facility called Ok Tire, located on Norwich Street.
• 1970: After Bill Duckworth Jr. graduates high school, he begins working in the family business alongside his father.
• 1973: The name changes from Ok Tire to Bill Duckworth Tire.
• 1976: Bill Duckworth Tire builds their first warehouse on Norwich Street and begins warehousing and wholesaling tires.
• 1985: Bill Duckworth Tire expands to Hinesville, Georgia.
• 1986: Another location opens on Altama Avenue.
• 1990: Bill Duckworth Tire builds a bigger warehouse at the Altama location and becomes the largest independent tire retailer in the Golden Isles.
• 1991: Bill's son Jamey graduates high school and begins working in the family business.

Today, Bill Duckworth Jr. is still very involved in the day to day operations. He oversees three retail locations and manages the warehouse as Bill Duckworth Tire continues to deliver on the promise of "Hometown Family Service You Can Trust."
